Cormas User's
Guides
Tutorials
Learn to load and manipulate a
simple model: ECEC.
Two tutorials are available. With the first one (CormasTutorial1.pdf),
the user can manipulate an existing example (Game of
Life: Conway.zip)
and then prepare its own model from scratch. A cellular
automata simulates the diffusion of a fire. A set of
firemen agents try to extinguish the fire. They will
improve their efficiency by exchanging messages, and by
considering fire at different scales.
With the second tutorial (CormasTutorial2.pdf),
the user will also build a model from scratch. The model
is inspired from a paper by Pepper and Smuts, "Evolution
of Cooperation in an Ecological Context" (download the PDF
at Santa Fe Institut). The survival of two populations
of agents depends on the spatial configuration. The user
will also learn how to conduct a sensitivity analysis
and the different ways to save the results of a
simulation (download the model: MyFirstCormasModel.zip).
User's guide
A User's guide will be available soon, describing
architecture of Cormas and explaining the main classes
and methods. Nevertheless, the main UML class diagrams of the
Cormas kernel are available. About the links between
Cormas and some commercial GIS softwares (MapInfo,
Idrisi, ArcView), you may have a look to this Cormas/GIS guide.
Smalltalk free books
Some Smalltalk books are freely downloadable. You can
